A first-generation college graduate with degrees from Yale and Georgetown University Law Center, Jaime joined the staff of House Majority Whip James Clyburn. He was the youngest person and first African American to serve as executive director of the House Democratic Caucus.
Jaime was the first African American chair of the South Carolina Democratic Party and currently serves as associate chair of the Democratic National Committee. Jaime understands the importance of civility and recently coauthored his first book, “Climbing the Hill: How to Build a Career in Politics and Make a Difference”. Previously, Jaime served as the Chief Operations Officer for the College Summit, a nonprofit organization that helps low-income students enroll in college.
Jaime is running to replace Lindsey Graham, one of the most hypocritical Republicans and an ardent Trump supporter who helped appoint numerous unqualified candidates to federal judicial positions.
